Turkey as a country offers one of the finest beaches of the world. The only reason why they are not considered to be in league with the famous ones in California or Hawaii is because they have not been publicized extensively. Most beaches of the country are located along the Mediterranean Sea and attract a large number of tourists especially from the European continent. The best of them have been mentioned below:
a) Olimpos: This beach offers to its visitors a romantic experience. It is peaceful, quiet and a must for people who want to have some good time relaxing. In the background of this beach is a forest which is why it is also one of the smaller beaches. In the forests lie many Roman Ruins.
b) Patara Beach: Known to be the longest beach along the Mediterranean, Patara Beach is also considered to be one of the most exquisite ones in the world. This too is backed by ancient ruins which make for a wonderful sight. Tourists can rent umbrellas to sit along the shore. Accommodation is available but is limited in number.

c) Kemer Beachs: A number of small beaches are located in the city of Kemer. However, there are only a few which are sandy with the rest made of small pebbles. Tourists may plan day trips to these beaches and enjoy the magnificent view of water.
d) Olundeniz Beach: Being the most popular beach of Turkey, Olundeniz is host to a large number of visitors (especially in the peak season). Some activities that one may indulge in include watersports and scuba diving. Located nearby are good hotels and bars services of which can be availed at affordable prices.
e) Cleopatra's Beach: Another one of the famous beaches of the country, the Cleopatra's Beach is surrounded by a number of resorts, hotels, bars and other facilities for the entertainment of its visitors. Also located nearby is an old fortress that is of historical interest.
f) Pamucak Beach: While this is a beach to visit, it lacks the basic requirement of lifeguards and as such, visitors are advised to be careful when visiting here. Located nearby are some resorts and a water park.
g) Side Beach: This beach is only at a distance of one hour from the airport and is a must visit for tourists who come in large groups. Fine sand adorns the beach and the roman ruins located nearby add aesthetic to it. Nearby is a village which serves refreshments.
h) Bodrun Beach: Bodrun is where one of the Seven Wonders of the World is located. The Museum of Underwater Archaeology (originally the Castle of St Peter) is also present here. As far as the beaches go, there are some small ones and are visited by tourists mainly to relax after a tiring day.
There are only a few countries which host as many beaches as Turkey. If you plan to visit this this country, make sure to enjoy as many of them as possible.
